Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am having lower back problems & have been thru the gamet of tests but cannot get any relief with pain in my RT buttocks & going down my right leg. I have been thru PT, injections, orthopedic docs, neurologist a spine clinic in Scotsdale( (which blew us off after seeing the PA),& the last rx was a spinal stimulator (which didn t work) I think I should have kept it for longer than a week with more help from the technical rep to find the right program for me. I feel with all modern medicine there should be some one to help me. I am 77 years old & have been active until this problem cannot be resolved. I go to the Gym 3x weekly, I can ride my bike without a problem. When I go out I bring my folding stool so when the pain hits I can sit for a few minutes & can continue on . Any suggestions. Ed
Till now, as all the possible conservative measures are being tried, in my opinion, epidural analgesia with expert pain management specialist is the best first option to proceed in this regard.
The second option would be the surgery of decompression at the spinal level if the root cause is confirmed by MRI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
